Although the fabric cover was badly worn, the rocking and reclining mechanism was still working well. In addition, the main frame was still usable. However, the cushions had become soft and sagging after many years of daily use. Some parts of the sofa frame also needed repair and strengthening.

The button-tufted backrest, padded armrests, seat cushion, skirted base and classic rocking recliner style were carefully maintained.
